Cropped:
My Cropped collection combines the front on elevational views of the ‘Facades’ collection with the ‘Street Views’’ more abstract approach of only drawing one part of a building in detail and leaving the rest out. By looking at a cropped section of a facade the viewer is forced to notice the all the details: the texture in the stonework, the intricate carving, the positioning of the doors and windows. If you are given the whole building it is very easy to identify it from its shape so I like that these drawings take a little longer to recognise.
Unfinished:
This is the most recent style I have been using to depict architecture. Parts of the drawing I will render in high detail, and other parts I leave blank allowing the viewer to join the dots and fill in the rest. It was a natural progression from my Cropped style to the Unfinished style.
